Meizu MX5 launched with FHD AMOLED display, fingerprint scanner, octa-core processor and 3GB Ram at $285


China based electronics company Meizu has launched its new flagship smartphone, MX5, in its home market at a starting price of 1800 yuan ( $285 approx).

The Meizu MX5 sports an all-metal body and features a 5.5-inch full-HD (1920x1080p) AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The phone has a finger-print sensor embedded with its Home button. It weighs 149gram and is 7.6mm thick.

It is powered by a 2.2GHz octa-core MediaTek Helios X10 processor (ARM cortex A53) driven by PowerVR G6200 graphics backed by 3GB RAM with 16, 32 and 64GB storage variant running Android 5.0 lollipop with Flyme 4.5 UI on the top.

Meizu MX5 features a 20MP rear camera with a Sony IMX220 sensor and dual-LED flash and laser focus and a 5MP front camera. The rear camera supports 4K video capture.

The phone has a 3150mAh battery and comes with Meizu's mCharge fast charging technology. In terms of connectivity, the dual-sim phone supports 4G (both FDD-LTE and TD-LTE), Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS.

Meizu is expected to introduce the phone in India but has not revealed the launch date and pricing information.
